JP..Go for it, for you, never learn too much..as for Fiber Splicing, you are about 20 yrs. late, everybody and his cousin are fiber splicers..when cable companys first started using it, I was getting 90 to 105.00 a splice contracting with a 75.00 set up charge for small count..50 trillion people saw the money and rushed out to be a fiber splicer..nowdays you can't support your cigarette habit fiber splicing..plus, most MSO's have in house splicers which drove the prices down, a contractor will starve.
