open the message, on the right hand side you will see an options tab, click on it, delete option will be there, click on it. then go to outbox, then go back to inbox and message should be gone. I just deleted 3 that way.
I see you said you tried that. But that is how I do it and it works.
I tried to delete this post and start over but I could not. So I am editing, will see if this works.
