1978 Phoenix an anchor crew putting in anchors hit a gas main behind a 7-11,didn't know it. I got a call about 2 in the morning about an explosion, well the 7-11 reefer in the back sucked in the gas fumes and a worker went in the cooler to smoke "something" couldn't smell the gas and lit his doobie and leveled the store. Blew the walls right out , melted a phone booth across the street, He was the only one killed. We had 3 people killed on that job in 1 1/2 years.
