You are in the old Wade/Time Warner system for Comcast? When I have to drive through there I still see span replacements we hung, jeez almost 10 yrs ago, still tailed up on poles. One that sticks out is on 52nd near Market. That system was rough when we were there and never got better.
Biggest problem I seen with Comcast is they are basically an engineering company run completely by accountants. How else do you explain when they did their fiber upgrade, do you reuse 15 year old strand with unjacketed p3 cable in an area with an acid rain problem. That was in the other side of Philly, area 4 the first area built by Comcast from scratch when Philadelphia first got cabled, from your system but very much Comcast.I made great money for awhile rebuilding it one span at a time for better money than rebuild, but it frustrates you seeing it done that way. And in the long run, they just cut down the numbers to get it done for the price they want it for, so as a contractor, you lose.
