As a Lineman I've done them. The easiest ones are the ones that already have power swung to the new pole, get your chainsaw, cut off the top of the old pole loosen the 3 bolt clamp and swing it to the new pole, IF,,,,IF,,,IF the new pole is directly behind or beside the old pole. If its 10 feet away your in for some work, especially if your working off hooks. De-lash, re-lash, splicing, its dangerous stuff. I saw a guy cut the top off a pole off with a chainsaw, he didn't realize that there was a downguy pulled tight at the top of the pole, he didn't fall but he needed a new set of britches. Dont get into it unless you have a bucket, dont even try to learn in an easment off hooks or ladder, dont even try to learn unless your with someone experienced. Move on young patawan. Hope this helps, Later, red
