I've been in this industry for some 40 years, contractor, owner, operator, consultant. This industry has ""ALWAYS"" and will "ALWAYS"" make their money off the sweat of the backs of the field laborer's. Without the transient field personnel this industry would be dead in the water. It all started in the field, idea's for new tools, construction methods, splicing specs', designs, field surveys, etc, etc, always faster-easier, more cost effective methods and procedures. If no field personnel-this industry would not be where it is today. It's always been cheap rates or bare minimum. The only thing that came out of more schooling for this trade is more Corporate Bean Counters. More ways to screw the man, and now women in the field. Power and Phone field personnel use to laugh at us for working so hard, producing more daily footage than they would do in a week. Now who is laughing, If cable MSO Management/owners ever wised up
and worked with the field, paying a livable wage, WE WOULD ALL BE UN-STOPABLE and lead the world into the future of home infotainment. (information and entertainment) !!! Wake Up
