As of right now, no one can give us specifics on any kind of pay scale that will be used. We're going to have a meeting in a week and a half where someone is going to lay it all out for us. I see from some of the replies that backcharges tend to go away in an employee environment.
Then again, its the cable world and there's alot of gray areas. I would not imagine that benefits or health insurance would be offered. I also would not imagine that being w-2 automatically makes you a full time employee. One of the phrases being thrown around alot is "moving to an employee-based system" . Based on the work that the company has given us in the past, I don't see how keeping any employees would be viable at all (except for immediate management). In the past 2 springs , we've seen weeks like 20 jobs for 15 guys on Monday, 0 jobs tuesday-thursday, 20 jobs for 15 guys on friday, and like 40 jobs for 15 guys on Saturday.
