Ok. This is where is disagree with you. Power company and Water Company and Gas Company take a deposit unless you have a high credit score. Just because it might hurt your sells doesnt mean it is not a good idea for the rest of the industry.
No more selling cable with all the boxes and a modem, paying a sales fee to a contractor, and an installation fee to contractors, to only have the customer not pay first months bill and run off with the equipment. More money in budget means more money for people who deserve it.
With free installs and everything else you are really looking at a big loss for the cable company. I think its a good business sence.
