AAHH, Electrocution! I learned that lesson the hard way: 1977, Kansas, 3-story barn-style house with nearly no space (maybe 10-15 ft) on the flat side facing the neighbor. 25KV service lines running between the houses. My job: scraping paint using a 40ft aluminum extension ladder. You guessed it...'woke up' on ground on my back with eyes closed, took stock of myself and could feel all my limbs responding normally (or so I thought), but something kept 'fluttering' and bouncing off my face. I opened my eyes and found my left hand doing the St. Vitus dance on my face! The ensuing scream apparently restored my heart functions, and I went into the house to 'cool off'. I then found burn marks on my boots, and drove myself to the hospital to get checked out. I have never before or since seen any E.R. personnel move that fast! Three scorched toes and a few fingers on the left hand, but no tcker issues. However, I did not have to finish that job, and still got paid! Never forget that flash, tho.
