There's gotta be a point where you'll "smoke" a processor tryin' to process what's comin' at ya!
.....The prossessor will just do what it can. I have never seen a chip blow just because of having a large open gateway(abuility to go faster).
What i'm gettin' at is if your computer can't handle the speed , why would you pay for it other than to have the fastest available?
There's a lot of ignants owt there...see them every day workin.
