$300 a day ain't nothing to be bragging about as a sub. How much wear on your truck that day? How much have you set aside for tool replacement (they do wear out)? How much is your vehicle insurance? Your General Liability? Your extra taxes you pay that an employer normally would? Advertising expenses, etc?
