The premise of your question is flawed. Most Democrats are not "anti-military" so you can stop right there. The only Iraq War vet in Congress is a Democrat. Most military enlistment now comes from lower class families that tend to be Democrat. If Republicans were so "pro-military" they'd send their sons and daughters in greater numbers and wouldn't be demanding lower taxes when we had 2 wars going on and running a deficit. A better question would be why Republicans don't truly "support" the military with anything more than words?
It's easy to define what you're willing to fight for; but what are you willing to stand for without fighting? What are you willing to lay down your life for?
