Contract Prisma Field Engineer for Scientific Atlanta

We are currently looking for contract Field Engineers to support the Prisma optical products.

Reports To: Program Manager

Skills Required:
1) CATV system experience.
2) Fiber Optic troubleshooting and maintenance experience
3) 5 years CATV experience
4) Operation of basic CATV electronic troubleshooting tools (e.g. spectrum analyzer, optical power meter)
5) Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft XL and Word.

Skills Desired:
1) Experience with SA Headend equipment.
2) CATV Headend troubleshooting and maintenance experience

Functional Tasks:
1) Install Transmitter and receiver modules into chassis.
2) Connect Headend cables required to activate laser Power Supply systems.
3) Clean and connect fiber optic cables to modules.
4) Proof and troubleshoot system using electronic test equipment.
5) Document results of install

Travel Required:
Travel out on Monday morning, return home Friday afternoon. 90% of year.

Education Required: High school + post high school technical education (preferably in CATV field). Experience can be considered as a substitute by candidate.

Individual will be face to face with the customer. They will need excellent verbal and written skills and will need to be able to present themselves as a CATV professional.

This is a contract position with the possibility of regular employment with Scientific Atlanta.
