As an employer who pays some employees based on hours and some employees based on piece, my advice to all people out there.....If your employer is constantly hitting you up for backcharges and you have NOT been fired, then you are being ROBBED and you are the one lacking a brain. Go work at McDonalds, dig a ditch for the county, go recycle newspapers and cans. You'd be better off. All the talk on this site about filing a class action lawsuit is a joke. Most people on here can't afford an attorney, and usually don't need one if they know that they should pick up the phone and call their State Labor Board.
Come on guys & gals, wake up! Why would you work for a company that does this to you (and your family)?!?!
However, if you are being backcharged for work that you did NOT do, then you are a thief (or attempting to be one), and you SHOULD be fired.
