Remembering that each state has different laws.......
Start looking for assets of the debtor......copy all checks from them so you know where their bank is. Get some tag numbers from personal and company vehicles. Find some home addresses for the principal company owners. Find out where they ar getting their money from.......CATV CO. DTV, DISH etc.......ask for a lien against those funds.
Go to the courthouse where you did the work and ask the clerk for guidance in filing a small claims court summons. Sue them "jointly and severally" which means the corporation (if they are one) and the operators.
Send a certified letter demanding payment. Demand an accounting or reason for late payment. Get them to acknowledge the money owed.
Get the court to serve them the summons to come to court and show why they have not paid.
Have copies of signed work orders or letters from the customers you installed.....a lawyer can advise but he will want 1/3 or so.
Sue for legal fees and collection costs in addition to money owed. Ask for interest on any balance over thirty days old.
Decide how much you are prepared to accept if they make an offer to stop the court proceedings.
Do not threaten to sue. When the papers arrive there will be more impact!
AND the other question to get answered is........How to collect the judgment, assuming the court decides you are owed the money you ask for.
The sooner you get going the better chance you have of getting paid......
