you should cover your own ass. Get something from the people you are getting work from. If you get your work from the MSO then have them give you something if you are subbing from a contractor have them give you something. That way if you do your work according to the specs that you are given (in writing or diagrams, ex. manuals.) then it will be that much harder for whoever you are invoicing to gig you.
