The best thing to do is find an old dog that needs a helper .Let him teach you how to build equipment. Then get you some old cable and practice coring , let him teach you how to climb poles , read a meter , etc . Just start out by cutting taps until you become proficent at that , then move up to cutting the big pieces. You will learn more by watching and then applying what you have learned .Make sure you find a good teacher, if you learn it from a hack you will be a hack. Find someone who takes pride in their work and then you will learn it correctly , good luck and welcome to the wonder full world of cable.'WHITFIELD"
