In twenty five years I have never worked a New Years Day, Christmas, Thanksgiving, or Fourth of July. To be honest I don't remember working a Memorial Day, or Labor Day also. Back when Veterans day was still a company holiday, I did work one of those.
When I started, there were always plenty of guys who volunteered if the need arose. Being on the line-crew you didn't get called out much. Now that I have seniority, and could probably work them,I have gotten accustomed to being at home with friends and family for the holidays. There are still plenty of volunteers doing the work.
Monday I did not work but was still able to gross $224.
