Back in the 80's I did that job for a TCI contractor (talk about not getting paid...!) to make strand, plant, and system maps for peanut systems across the country that TCI was either interested in or eventually bought out.
Saw all sorts of interesting "items" that people hide in their backyards...walked an average of 10-12 strand miles a day...pushing and re-setting a foot-wheel over and over again.
Tolerated the drawing, but enjoyed the open air more, so gave up after a while and went back into installs. Today's version is more video-oriented, and covers territory quicker. Besides, sat-mapping is getting so much clearer...yeah, rigghht!
