RULES FOR A GUN FIGHT...
1. Bring a gun. Preferably, two... bring all your friends who have
guns...
2. Anything worth shooting is worth shooting twice... Ammo is cheap,
life is expensive.
3. Only hits count. The only thing worse than a miss is a slow miss...
4. If your shooting stance is good, you're probably not moving fast
enough or using cover correctly...
5. Move away from your attacker. Distance is your friend...
6. If you can choose what to bring to a gunfight, choose a long gun...
and a friend with a long gun...
7. In 10 years, nobody will remember tactics, calibers or details...
only who lived... & the one who lives can tell it anyway they want...
8. If you're not shooting, you should be running, communicating and
reloading...
9. Someday, somebody may kill you with your own gun... but they should
have to beat you to death with it because it's empty...
10. Always cheat, always win... The only unfair fight is the one you
loose.
11. Have a plan.
12. Have a back-up plan, because the first plan won't work...
13. Cover... concealment... cover... concealment... cover...
concealment...
14. Flank your adversary... protect yours...
15. Don't drop your guard...
16. Always tactical load and threat scan 360 degrees.
17. Watch their hands... Hands kill... (In God we trust, everyone
else...keep your F*@#ing hands where I can see them...)
18. Decide to be aggressive ENOUGH, quickly ENOUGH.
19. The faster you finish the fight, the less shot you will get...
20. Be polite, be professional... but have a plan to kill everyone you
meet...
21. Be courteous to everyone... friendly to none.
22. Your number one option for personal security is a lifelong
commitment to Avoidance, Deterrence, and De-escalation.
23. Do not attend a gunfight with a handgun, the caliber of which does
not start with a "4"...
24. The gun you carry is 100% more effective than the one you don't...
25. Knock down power is nice... but shot placement trumps it every
time...
26. Carry a small but powerful flashlight. It is as important as spare
magazines... If you cannot positively identify it... you should not be
shooting at it. (A good whack with a flashlight makes drunk people say
"sir"...)
27. Fields of fire... Fields of fire... Fields of fire...
28. With few exceptions, your target will not give up the fight upon
being shot. Don't just stand there waiting for him to keel over... move,
reload, re-engage... when he is no longer a threat, you'll know it...
the Coroner will tell you...
29. Re-read #30 and plan on getting shot yourself... Stay in the fight
until your world goes black...
30. PRACTICE... PRACTICE... PRACTICE... AND PRACTICE SOME MORE!!!
