I was lucky,
The installation company I started doing CATV with as an installer insisted on a ride along for about a week with someone they were grooming for management. I worked on three systems and each guy did his best to point out unacceptable pracdices and demonstrate correct ones within each system. Then they checked my work before allowing me to take a route.
I left for the world of satellite work only because the branch manager was cherry picking the ez /$ jobs for himself and making a nice side income on BSD charge backs. I never looked back.
But guess what, Primestar was very ok to me.......but DTV has settled to the level where you just know the installation companies will some how screw with you check. There is little difference between good and bad work if you don't get paid for it. I'm out.
