Power supply starting current

At my headends I use stand by generators and antec stand by power supplys ,when the power supplys start up they draw more current than the generator can stand messing up everything.Do all stand by power supplys draw this much ccurrent (we have to use magnet breakers to keep them on). Any ideas ? Chuck
