Re: Who's the customer

The problem is we have forgotten about the customer. The owners of the mso's are so far removed from the customer that he has no idea what is going on in the industry. We as subs have lots of customers. We have to satisfy the cable or sat company, of course we need to do this w/out pissing off the contractor who usually has his son in law running the show and this guy doesnt even know what a set of hooks are. And then we have the owner of the house who has been promised a "free install". Sure that wall fish can be done, and free of charge. Yes the tech can make changes in your line up over the phone. Sure the c.o.d can be paid in crack laden one doller bills. It gets old fast and Ive gotten to the point where I tell the customer up front how I make my living. And if the MSO or contractor doesn't like it then I will not work for him. Ive not met a prime who aproaches the biz in a profesional manner in ten or fifteen years.
