Chopps, I am now an employee (officially) with a company. Yet, I still use my own truck and tools. Still piece pay. My check stubbs have taxes taken out. If I was to quit or get fired, I can easily draw unemployment. You could do this as a "contractor", but it is a lengthy process because the Prime will try to fight you, swearing to God that you were never an employee of theirs. You asked my point....The point is...It is time for all of us guys/gals to stop taken the crap from the fly by night Primes...the ones that don't pay, the ones that try to "blackball" your name because you leave them, etc.
