Re: A Bear... a big one


In 2001 we were going on vacation in Montana, and Picked up an official looking warning notice on the desk of the tourist center at the state line. As my wife started reading it she was really starting to freak-out.

It said something to the effect of:

There are 2 types of bears in Montana which you should be concerned about. The Grizzly and the Brown bear. You should put bells on your shoes for noise and carry pepper spray. The brown bear is not as dangerous, but both should be avoided. You can tell the difference by taking note of the bear scat (that's bear crap for you city folks) The brown bears scat is small, pungent smelling and contains berries. The grizzly bear scat is larger, smells like pepper, and contains small bells.
