IMO, it has alot to do with the area you work in, I've worked all over the south and mid west, I found that in the Carolinas, ( Columbia, Florence) there is not as much back stabing, or there wasnt when i started there several years ago.

Now in Dallas, where I am watch out, people will do what ever to cut you down and take your place, I"d rather swim in shark infested radioactive water than try to find a fair contractor, or sub for that matter, in Dallas.

Im sure its the same in most of the big cities, but alot of the old guys around here say it started with a select few supervisors 'selling routes', and then went down hill from there.
