Did you see anywhere in my post where I said professionals would be working for that type of pay ? I think not.
What you need to realize is that the MSO's look at charge backs as another form of revenue, period.
Lower payout equals less experienced "techs" which in turn equals more failed QC's which in turn results in more charge backs.
Why do you think most of the inhouse guys are doing TC's full time. Paying in house to do installs just doesn't turn a profit as most subs run circles around inhouse in as far as production rates go, but they can send an in house out to do 10 + TC's/ QC's a day and find that revenue.
Think about it. $75 charge back for a $50 modem install.....caching $$$$$$.
