As an employer & a subcontractor, I agree that most of you on this site should be classified as "employees". The problem is you can expect your overall wages to dramatically drop EVEN MORE because the company will now try to cover their increased costs. Most individuals do not know how much payroll taxes (just the company's share), increased workers comp & liability insurance really cost. For a legitimate business, these are the most epensive costs. I have wondered for many years how you installers (especially in sat work) have managed to get by. The prices are so low already, it will just get worse....
The advantage for a crackdown is that it gives legitimate businesses like mine a more fair deal when I have to compete for work (hopefully, anyway).
