They are known as baker boards, one manufacture is the AB chance company. They are widely used in the power industry, so you should be able to locate one through a power supply distributor.
GMP makes a ladder sling that attaches to the messenger, as well as a platform that fits on the ladder. I find this combo easy to use when by yourself, more so than a baker board or two man platform set up. The only draw back is dragging the ladder into the back yard.
And brik, when I first started climbing I was continuously told that there were plenty of one armed linemen looking for a job. Never did see one, have you?
