Standard Color Code
25 Pair Cable color code consists of 5 color groups of 5 Pairs of wires that determine the order of each group.
Those groups are colored in this order :
White, Red, Black,Yellow and Violet.
Another color group determines the order of each pair within each group in this order:
Blue, Orange, Green, Brown and Slate.
TIP: If you want to memorize the color code, memorize the two color groups before continuing.
Each pair has a lead designation of Tip for the first lead and Ring for the second lead.
Tip Lead Ring Lead
White Blue
Red Orange
Black Green
Yellow Brown
Violet Slate
The first pair of a 25 pair cable is the White/Blue Pair.
The Tip lead is White with a Blue tracer.
The Ring lead is Blue with a White tracer.
The second pair of a 25 pair cable is the White/Orange pair.
The Tip lead is White with an Orange tracer.
The Ring lead is Orange with a White tracer.
The Third pair of a 25 pair cable is the White/Green pair.
The Tip lead is White with a Green tracer.
The Ring Lead is Green with a White tracer.
The tenth pair of a 25 pair cable is the Red/Slate pair.
The Tip lead is Red with a Slate tracer.
The Ring Lead is Slate with a Red tracer.

What is the 22nd pair of wires? Refer to the table.

Larger cables such as 100 pair cables are usually made up of four 25 pair Groups.
Those groups are usually wrapped in nylon or string tracers colored in color code order.
The first 25 are colored White/Blue.
The second 25 are colored White/Orange.
The third 25 are colored White/Green.
The fourth 25 pair are colored White/Brown.
A four pair cable consists of only the first four pairs in this color code above or these colors in this order:
Green Red Black Yellow White Blue Brown Orange
A two pair cable either consist of the first two pairs of the color code above or these colors in this order:
Green Red Black Yellow
