Re: D.O.T physical


The ones we have had, & have the guys get are not for CDL, just to drive commercial vehicles. Pretty painless, basic. They're just checking eyes, colorblind, hearing, basic heart problems, seizures. They just want to see if you're in generally good enough health to be driving a bucket & or commercial truck.

The urine test that they take on us are not for drugs. From my understanding, that's up to the company as far as drug testing. Larger companies are usually required by their insurance companies to have them. It is very expensive & a lot of legalities that smaller companies may avoid.

Costs us around $60. The company that is requiring it should be paying for it. The companies we have worked for in house have always paid for ours.

The health card was one of the 1st things we've were asked for when pulled over by DOT.
