I do a FAA Medical Exam every 4 years for my commercial multi licenses and they do a 7 panel DOT drug test every time .. my flight doctor tells me to DO NOT DRINK ANYTHING with Alcohol in it for at least a week before the exam.. .any amount will fail you..
and believe it or not .. it will take a few days to get a 1oz shot completely out of your system... It might not be a BAC%, but the alkaline levels that is the by-product of alcohal that remains in your system
so it is not the active use that they are looking for .. it is the active abuse that they will find
