Someone suggested having it done by a service who specializes in that, and that I agree with. You could also go to a bookstore and find a book that could help you. If it is a financial difficulty to do those two things, then perhaps you could find time to go to the bookstore and just get an idea of what you want to do by looking at the book and not buying it

Newer versions of Microsoft Works have samples of resumes and cover letters were all you have to do is paste and delete to come up with something that will work for you.

Once you get a resume and cover letter together, save it in your computer and you can tweak it as needed. The cover letter should be no longer than one page and I like to keep the resume the same, but it is ok to go over one page a little bit. Font should be legible and point should be no smaller than 9.

After all you want people to be able to read it and be impressed with your skills. Not unable to read your skills but be impressed with the font while they chuck it in the trash.
