being a tech for 10 years (DTV & Dish) & also a Dish Retailer
Dish is easier to work with.
Less parts to use (dual tuners), much quicker to activate ( not on the phone forever). Pay is better & you get payed (rippped with DTV many times.
The phone line is required if active & within 25 feet, not across a doorway.
Chargeable if not.
