Re:Info on learning sweep ? Yessir, Here's what ya do.......

#1- Pick up phone call someone with a sweep contract tell him you sweep.

#2- Simply explain, you dont have much experience, (this is contractor code for; "you have my permission to screw me, I need the work").

#3 This is where it gets touchy.... You can simply rent his test equipment, or if you want the full treatment, go lease a new bucket for $1500/mo, and by a Sweep unit. This path will truly teach you what you need to know. Although be fore-warned, it is not for the faint of heart or those that have others depending on your income.

#4 Now this is very important. When asked if you supress ingress, you say YES! Add immediately, that you consider it part of the sweep. Nothing impresses a contrator more than a can do attitude. This is imperative. Like the above section, this training will be invaluable to you in the immediate future.

#5 When given your first sweep prints, DO NOT let anyone know
that you dont understand why not being able to read the tombstone legend is critical. Well, on second thought it doesn't really matter, because its likely neither do they.

#6 When told you have to give the same retainer as the splice crew, you say, "Oh sure..."

#7 Once you have your sweep unit, go to the field and rough balance, until you no longer recognize anything on the graph.
Resist the urge to run to the nearest splice job and leave all your hard fought sweep earnings behind, this will come along quite naturally.

Besides, you will fix this later by stumbling upon an active that has a decent P/V and copy that picture to the various problems you have instinctively ignored.

Well, I hope this has been helpful. Good luck, and good sweeping!
