I just did it the way it is supposed to work!
This morning I drove a COV 140 miles one way. I unloaded cargo and picked up other supplies at an airport. On he way back to the yard I brought one the two tanks up to 3/4 full. I paid with a COCC (Company owned Credit Card). Would you believe 16 gallons of diesel costs $75.00?
When i got back to the yard I parked the truck. At the end of the week I will get a check for around $600.00 before taxes. That is how it works everywhere else. Just the driving part of the job is $15.00 / hour and about $2.00 per mile for a large truck.
Fuel costs are like my wages; a business expense to the company. That is the only way it is legal for an employee using a COV.
