Back in 1983 Had the aerial contract-fiber from Pittsburgh to Baltimore-anywhere UG could not be installed along RR ROW.
Had to have RR Union linemen climb pole and remove the one bolt on the X arm brace and lower that end of the brace. We would frame and install 3/8 strand up under the x-arm-lash 48 fiber then Union lineman would come back out and put the brace up and replace the one bolt holding the xarm. Most of the time we was only about 15-19 ft off ground. Had to have signal man with each crew, could not have equipment on RR ROW. All winch-man power. Back when linemen were MEN.
