yes u r right it is ''grounded'' not bonded to the common house ground, this probably goes to a 3/8'' ground rod which is a failure in terms of fcc grounding policies, true installers know what i'm talking about! Also the so called upside down drip loop as you call it is a trouble call waiting to happen as moisture will follow the cable into the fittings and it will cause problems faster than it would if it was cable ty because there is current involved. differance in potential anyone?
