I hear ya NW1 I ain't up on the codes anymore BKMA, BHAA, etc, etc, it's been a long time biggest stuff I worked with was a 2700 on 26m strand. my point with the booms is this, I agree the trucks only as good as the operator but ya have to know it's limitations. from my experience the AP45 has the strongest boom then the T40 then the Posi the first T40 C's to come out with the smaller cage were stronger then the recent ones. the T40 is better in trees 'cause the wires and the hydraulic lines run inside the boom while the AP45 runs in a slide tray outside. they did this so as not to compromise the boom strength. sorry for the book, I tried to keep it short.
