Ax Men (my new favorite show)

Missed the show last week but was able to take both episodes in tonight.

Really enjoyed, and reminded me off my start in telephone. My parents owned a logging outfit in Southern Oregon were I was able to work for two summers. First summer I wasn't allowed to set chocker, so I had to help the faller. He hated my guts since I was the owners kid.

He was the toughest man I have ever worked with, he was 50 and I was 17 lifted weights and ran everyday. He smoked and drank heavy everyday and worked circles around me. I've never seen anybody run up mountains faster than he.

The next summer I was old enough to set choker cables before the start of college. Lasted one semester in school and dropped out. Dad informed me a quitter wasn't needed in his operation, so I moved up to Portland and stayed with my aunt.

My buddies dad was contracting for GTE burying cable. He hired me on digging ditches back in 84, and I have been doing phone work in one capacity or another ever since. Sorry for the rant, and thanks for letting me share my story
