Does anyone know if the issue is being addressed about how small cable operators are going to be able to deal with the costs of the digital mandate?
A typical upgrade for a small plant could be 60K+.
How could a small operator be expected to make this size of investment when the ROI could never be seen, that is if they could even come up with the cash.
I have even heard that larger operators like COX are finding it hard to make this transition.
Are the FEDs going to step in and give guaranteed loans to hardship cases or create other options to help small operators stay in business?
It there any help out there?
