Re: what have we become

I would drill all the oil this country has on land and in the sea to save just one family from having to suffer the loss of their beloved son,daughter,mother, father,sister, brother,aunt, or uncle in a war for money and power. But hey, you're asking a guy who lives in a country that has always been at war with other country's or its own people since the day I was born. I have always yearned that this country would some day live up to its creed that we are a nation of free men. Now, as I grow nearer to my end, I realize that that time will not come in my life time but I pray that one day not only this country but all the country,s of the world will come to know peace. As I get closer to my own immortality I understand what Plato meant when he said something to the effect that the only men who knows wars end is the dead.
