I always start with the birdog, and then I use my combolook spectrum analyzer. That way I can verify the frequencys. The spectrum analyzer doesnt do much when finding the bird, but I prefer to get dead on and leave the guess work behind. I got my combolook for like 1500 dollars, but that also means I can use it for satellite cable and off air alignments. The TV look and the sat look I hear are better because more precise, but I didnt care about being THAT percise. I cared about being able to do the job and get the work up to a high enough spec. Becides just starting on the bigger dishes and spending 3000 to have 2 machines when 1 will do was a bit much. So thats my advice. You should have something to where you can see the xpols
