Re: Shouldn't there be a national standard on pay

I have read all the posts below and have come up with a few questions. The string is about standard pay rates. So all these varieables come to light. Then working as a contractor why is it that the prices on our end goes up every year(gas, food, hotel, tools, and anything else we need to do the jobs)but, the prices that we get paid keep going down? Not to mention that the prices that the MSO or what ever provider we do work for keeps going up to the comsumer that wants the service.

So when are we as a band of tradesmen going to band together and, say no more.

No Im not speaking for us to form some tpye of union but at least stand together and say to these companies no we wont work for pennies. When you are makes 100 dollar bills and giving it to some stock holder that is in an office some where watching his money grow without working for it.

Then dare them to hire some illeage that dont speak english to do our jobs for us. By sitting out side of there gates with signs and banners of how they dont pay thier works proper wages for the work we do. That would get thier attention do to the fact that. They sure dont to have that put on the cnn,fox news or any other media channel. Why dont we learn from the tv writer that didnt work for the hollywood big wigs and now are getting what they wanted from them.

OR ARE WE JUST GOING TO SIT HERE ON THE BAR AND WHINE ABOUT WHAT WE DONT HAVE IN OUR CHECKS THIS YEAR AGIAN ALL THE PRICES WENT DOWN AND THEY ARENT PAYING FOR THE LINE ITEMS ANYMORE BECAUSE THAT IS INCLUDED IN A LOWBALL COMPOSITE PRICE AGAIN ?

I would like to see some feed back on this if it manages to stay up here without being taken down!!!!!!!!!
