Verizon or for that matter any co. that buys them out, is decades away from FIOS in my area, so I am assuming your concern for the cable co's sustainability, is cornered to the high income densly populated communities, that they ( verizon) are concentrating on at this point.
By the way nice paycheck... remember to put some away for your upcoming contract agreement.... there is sure to be another strike.
