IF they are charging you 40.00 a week for the truck you must be allowed to drive it home and drive it to work, correct?
That's NOT a Mastec, ACI or any other employee based company policy; it is dictated (not the amount, but the practice) by the Federal Government.
It is considered a form of compensation for a company to allow you to drive a company vehicle home. Simple as that.
As far as you only making 400.00 a week take home, that's a function of routing and work completed, unless they pay you by the hour. I don't think that's a winning formula for a contracting outfit that DEPENDS on COMPLETED jobs to generate revenue. It works fine for in house because the installation isn't the money maker, the SUBSCRIBER is the source of the dough.
Anyway, $400.00 a week is pretty tough.
