Illegal Non-payment for work performed should be THE death sentence for ANY company.
The practice of not paying subs until the Prime is paid always irked me. I know the larger operators are usually not guilty of this but many smaller outfits do this routinely. I've always felt that "floating the dough" was one of the MAIN reasons the Prime got their cut!
I am intimately familiar with back office costs and they don't run 40% of gross on a typical 60/40 split; ESPECIALLY not if you run a 1099 office where most of the expense burden can be passed along to the sub-contractors! You know what I'm saying here?
Anyway...that's the way I see it.
