Not to disagree triplesec but when a contractor has a contractor’s license it shows that they have their business properly registered with the state and that they have demonstrated the poses the ability to do business in their field.
Also in most states they require a contractors bond and proof of insurance to be licensed. This insures that there is recourse for vendors such as subs working for the contractor and the customer.
So I say it is not a bad thing for an agency to insure credibility and good business in our industry. It is something that has been needed to get rid of the fly by night bums and illegal’s that give our business a bad name.
And you may learn when you go through the process that there are many good things to be learned about doing business in your state that will protect you as a company.
But that’s just my 25 years in the business talking.
