The umbilical type directional drills will often leave a burn mark in the grass if the line lays there for a few hours. You will almost always have a water line to the drill, but it's easier (and cheaper) to reach the drill with it, especially if your in a rear easement and the trailer is in front at the curb. I like the Vermeer 7/11 for cable TV work, it's small enough to get to most job sites and it has 220 foot of rod on board (enough for most cable spans).
