FC13/Chris13...It's obvious you guys have never operated a HDD in your life..Chris, If you are going to do long bores you have to have the mud unit..this requires dragging hoses..just part of it..you can't mix enough in your self contained unit to bore..just use it for clear water to clean the machine etc.
Straightline..While I prefer Vemeer over Ditch Witch or any other I have used the Straightline..had 10 in Columbus Ohio..they break, they cost more in down time and parts..while the latter machines have dealers on almost every street corner, Straightline is not as prominent and cost on the intial investiment is basically the same...Besides that God awfull BLUE gets sickening on the jobsite after a while...Oh yeah..I own 8 Vermeer and 2 Ditch Witch machines..breakage on them is about equal..depends on operators and maintenanc..stay on top of that. Didn't mean to step on toes.
